Battle Friends And Foes in HUNTERxHUNTER: NENxIMPACT This Summer
Fans of the popular manga and anime series by Yoshihiro Togashi will be pleased to know that HUNTERxHUNTER: NENxIMPACT has been announced for release during summer 2025 on July 17 by Arc System Works. Players who enjoy fighting games and anime will be able to pit their teams of favorite characters against friends and foes alike.
As of Feb. 17, 2025, players around the world can preorder the game for PS5 and PC, and start learning the different moves of the characters and synergies when creating teams.
“The Free Battle mode will allow players to select their favorite characters in epic teams to face their opponent’s own team. Players will be able to play locally against other players, or against the CPU as they prefer,” Arc System Works said on the company’s website.
New Character Announced Before Release
The initial version, of what the games studio referred to as a “franchise,” will contain 16 characters but a 17th, Nephelpito aka Pito, from the Chimera Ants arc, will be available as an additional DLC Character later in 2025, or by purchasing the Deluxe version of the game.
Battle 3 vs 3
Players put together teams of three to battle other teams. The different settings will allow for battles online as well as offline against family members at home on the couch. Each character comes with different moves and half the battle is figuring out how to set up the perfect teams with synergies that can devastate the opponent.
In single mode, players will face a variety of challenges, including the Sky Arena against the CPU to become the Floor Master. Each character also comes with a Combo Trial, where the road to mastering all the different combos begins.
The Story and Single mode is where players collect titles, profile icons, and Greed Island Cards to customize their online profiles. Once ready, players from across the globe can challenge each other online in ranked matches to ascend to the top and become a Triple Hunter.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s HUNTERxHUNTER premiered in 1998 as an epic adventure story in the Weekly Shonen Jump. The leading character Gon takes the hunter’s test not only to become a hunter like his father, but also to finally meet him.
During the exam Gon makes friends with Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua, amongst others. They continue to face challenges after the exam and their stories continue to impact fans around the world. The comic series alone has sold more than 84 million copies.
