Demo Released For Cozy Point And Click Journalist Adventure, Cantaloupe Chronicle

Games in which players get to take on the role of a news reporter are thin on the ground, but developer Tim Rachor Games is set to change this with Cantaloupe Chronicle. Investigate the seemingly charming town of Cantaloupe and uncover its secrets as you piece together articles.
Using point and click mechanics, players can explore the town and meet its residents. There’s also a unique text editor that lets you create in-game news reports from the information you gather.
“Step into the shoes of a young reporter in a classic point and click adventure as you uncover the mysteries of the small town. Write compelling articles, snap intriguing photos, and talk to the quirky townsfolk,” said Rachor in a release statement.
Discover Small Town Secrets
In Cantaloupe Chronicle, players find themselves interning at their Auntie Jill’s newspaper. Quite how an actual print publication keeps going in a small town is just one of the many mysteries players can attempt to solve, with the biggest secret being tied to a body discovered years prior.
Although Cantaloupe Chronicle might have a dark truth to uncover, the game itself is designed to evoke a cozy ambiance. Players can travel around the town and meet the people who call it home, and in doing so find stories to publish in the newspaper.
Make The Front Page
As players collect items and hear gossip, they can find ways to solve puzzles and get clues to use. One way to use them is via the game’s special text editor. Within this, players can piece together unlocked text blocks to build up stories.
The main objective is to find enough clues to be able to make the front page, but there’s no rush. Cantaloupe Chronicle invites players to soak up the laid-back atmosphere of Cantalopue and take their time investigating the small, roadside town.
The demo for Cantaloupe Chronicle is out now on PC and Linux, with the full game planned for release later in 2025.
