Spice Up Your Life With Dune: Awakening Tech Specs

Funcom, the studio behind top MMOs including Conan Exiles and Secret World, has released Dune: Awakening for PC pre-orders from March 24, 2025, and revealed the specifications gamers will need to spice up their life with a visit to the desert planet of Arrakis.

The full game is set for a full 1.0 release, on PC, on May 20, 2025, with all the main game content included. Console launches are due later in 2025. The game’s Creative Director, Joel Bylos, also outlined post-launch plans in a brief YouTube video.

“It will not launch in Early Access, and it will not have a monthly subscription,” he said. “It will receive regular free updates, including new content, new features and quality of life improvements.”

“Our Benchmark Mode is also still live if you want to check how your PC will run the game before you pre-order.”

Dust Storms And Hardware Specs

Arrakis is regularly besieged by massive dust storms, as well as occasional giant sandworm attacks, so PCs will have their work cut out for them if they’re going to be able to handle these kinds of graphic requirements. Funcom has wiped the sand from its computers to reveal the technical specifications for Low all the way through to Ultra settings.

To run the game at the lowest possible quality of 1080p and 30fps, gamers will need either an Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 on the CPU side of things. As for GPU, it’ll need to be an Intel Arc A380, AMD Radeon 5600 XT or NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060.

For players with gaming rigs that could probably power one of Dune’s ornithopters, the game can be run with Ultra settings with an Intel Core i7-11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, along with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX7800 XT GPU.

Spice is Life

In the world of Dune, spice is the most valuable commodity in existence, and is the basis for most conflicts. It’s known to also enhance a user’s senses, which Dune: Awakening seeks to replicate thanks to enhanced game and feedback options.

It’s being released with support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS 2, on the graphics side of things. Immersion-wise, gamers with fancy peripherals can make use of Razer’s Chroma RGB and Sensa HD Haptics features.

Dune: Awakening also comes with all the expected features PC gamers want, such as keymapping, ultrawide HUD option (21:9 and 32:9), and controller support. It will also be able to handle AZERTY, QWERTZ, and ESDF users.
