Human Torch And The Thing Coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 1.5

Marvel Rivals’ upcoming Season 1.5, also known as the second half of the first season, will see two new-comers to the game: the Human Torch and The Thing from the Fantastic Four. The season, Eternal Night Falls, will be out on Feb. 21, 2025, and add a brand-new redemption system which allows players to exchange excess Chrono Tokens into Units.
Players who grew up wondering who would win in a fight between the Incredible Hulk and The Thing or the Human Torch and Spider-Man will soon have their questions answered. With the new heroes added in Season 1.5, there will be a total of 37 playable characters in this third person shooter game.
Also, the new season will come with a new map, Central Park, which is now under the control of Dracula and his minions.
“Prepare to explore the depths of the Empire of Eternal Night in our new map, Central Park. Venture into this haunted terrain, now dominated by Dracula’s vampire legions,” said Guangyun Chen, Marvel Rivals’ Creative Director, in a YouTube video on Feb. 19, 2025.
“Rescue Ratatoskr the Asgardian squirrel God of Yggdrasill, and embark on a daring raid of Dracula’s castle to vanquish the darkness and end the eternal night.”
Rewards Carry Over From The First Season Half
When the second half of Season 1 starts, all ranks and scores players have achieved in the first half will be retained. New rewards can be earned by completing 10 competitive matches under the right conditions.
“These rewards will include an all-new Gold rank costume and a variety of Crests of Honor, featuring distinct designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All,” Chen said.
New Season – No Deadpool
The announcement of Season 1.5 will both please and upset gamers who have been awaiting the arrival of Deadpool for years. In December, 2024, Marvel Rivals dataminers found files suggesting that Deadpool could be an upcoming hero.
Game developers have neither confirmed nor denied that any of the datamined heroes will actually appear in the game.
Millions of Players in Less Than Three Months
Marvel Rivals was developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games and released on Dec. 6, 2024 and they have already reached a milestone of 40 million players in a very short time.
The success is attributed to the fact that the game is free-to-play and available on PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series, and PC, and it’s Marvel.
