Killing Floor 3 Postponed – Community Response

Tripwire Interactive, the developer and publisher of Killing Floor 3, has postponed the release date of the game from March 25, 2025 until later in the year following feedback from a recent beta test. The announcement has divided the player community with fears that it might be too late to save the third instalment in the franchise, while the parent company, The Embracer Group, supports the decision to delay the game.

Killing Floor 3 is a first-person co-op shooter and was first announced at Gamescom in August 2023. Up to five players can assume different roles and team up to dispose of unrelenting waves of enemies, unlock new skills, and build a formidable arsenal of weapons.

“After taking the time to gather and discuss feedback from our recent closed beta, we’ve realized that we missed the mark. Our goal isn’t just to make Killing Floor 3 an ambitious step forward for the franchise, but also maintain the core experience,” the Tripwire Interactive Development team said on X (Twitter) on March 7, 2025.

Killing Floor 3 Beta Feedback

Many of the game’s core features came under scrutiny during the beta testing by the players who participated in the closed beta test. Tripwire addressed the feedback in the same tweet.

“With the full support of our parent company Embracer Group, we’re working together on a timeline to address many of the common issues players had during the beta, including performance/stability, UI/UX, lightning, and weapon feel.”

However, the player community may not get the fixes they’re asking for before the game is released as some of the issues are said to be resolved after launch.

“While it’s too early to say which fixes will be implemented by launch, we can confirm that an update allowing (players) to independently select (their) perk class and character is planned post-release.”

Killing Floor 3 Community Response

Considering how close the game was to initial launch, the player community response has been a mixed bag of reactions. There are those who embrace the company’s decision to delay the game’s release in hope that that issues will be resolved, while others are quick to say that this close to launch there’s simply not enough time to address everything the community was vocal about during the beta testing.

Australian YouTuber Marcus runs the Trollisms channel and posted a review video of the beta testing of Killing Floor 3 where he said that the company’s statement to delay the game is a good start but not likely to save the game.

“This couldn’t have been possible without how vocal and passionate the KF community has been. Although it bothers me that the game got this close to launch in the state it was in. Hopefully next time Tripwire has something to show it’ll be better. And they will be receptive to the community going forward,” the YouTuber said in a pinned comment under the video.
