NVIDIA Adds DLSS 4 Support to More Games, Including Half-Life 2

NVIDIA continues to roll out support for new and old games this week, with news that titles such as the forthcoming FBC: Firebreak and the older Warhammer 40K Darktide are getting updates to handle DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) graphic upgrades.
DLSS 4 is the latest version of this and available for any gamers who own a GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU. It uses AI to enhance image quality, boost framerate, and reduce latency.
“This week, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is multiplying performance in Enlisted, the Half-Life 2 RTX demo, KARMA: The Dark World, The First Berserker: Khazan, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide,” NVIDIA said in a press release.
“More than 700 games and applications feature RTX technologies, and each week new games integrating NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and advanced ray-traced effects are released or announced, delivering the definitive PC experience for GeForce RTX players.”

Half-Life Gets a New Life
But what might be of particular interest to gamers, especially those who have been playing for quite a few years, is the Half-Life 2 RTX Demo. This is out now on PC and gives players a taste of the forthcoming fully remastered version by Orbifold Studios. Technically, it’s a community mod that’s seeing a full release, and as such will be free to all current Half-Life 2 owners.
“Re-live the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed Half-Life 2 like never before, reimagined with RTX Remix. Featuring full ray tracing, remastered assets, and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, this DLC is free for Half-Life 2 owners,” the studio said on the game’s official site.
It uses NVIDIA’s RTX Remix, a free open source platform that allows game devs and modders to remaster games, by importing original game assets, cleaning them up with AI-assisted tweaks, then dynamically replacing them during gameplay.
Framerate Updates
DLSS and related tools such as Reflex work together to provide smoother, faster gameplay that looks really nice. Newer games might not benefit from this technology as much as older games, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth using.
Various NVIDIA benchmark tests show that there is still a noticeable difference in using these features. For example, The First Berserker: Khazan can hit 559.3 frames per second, compared to 160.8 without DLSS enabled, running on an RTX 5090.
Other newer games getting DLSS 4 support include Control Ultimate Edition, Enlisted, and KARMA: The Dark World.
