“We’ve reached a major milestone in the evolution of the franchise with PGA TOUR 2K25,” said Dennis Ceccarelli, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sports at 2K, in a press release.
“From the moment players step onto the digital tee box, they’ll feel the difference – whether it’s the precision of EvoSwing, the ease of Perfect Swing or the depth of our all-new progression systems.”
New For This Golf-Sim Installment
EvoSwing is a fresh mechanic introduced to enhance game realism by more accurately simulating the feel of swinging a golf club. This improvement comes with a greater variety of shots, flight paths of the ball, roll physics, and lastly, visual improvements.
Beginners, and PGA Tour veteran players, can take advantage of the Perfect Swing feature which puts the game in a more relaxed gameplay session.
Players can take on the role of Tiger Woods, among others, or use the updated customization settings to create a version of themselves or a totally different appearance altogether. There are also new archetypes to choose from that will define how a character will approach the game.
The newly released game comes with 26 licensed courses. Notable additions include Oakmont Country Club, Royal Portrush Golf Club, and Quail Hollow Club, each hosting major tournaments for the first time in the series.
Publisher 2K, has confirmed that The Old Course at St. Andrews will be added to the game in Season 2 shortly after launch, but no official date has been set.
Multiplayer And Improved Course Designer
Daily and weekly tournaments, Ranked Tours, will allow PGA Tour 2K25 players to compete against each other for season rewards and the possibility to climb leaderboards. As the game is played cross-platform, players on consoles and PCs can tee off from around the world.
There are plenty of golfing games to choose from these days and most of them rely on the level of detail of the courses available. The in-game Course Designer has been expanded with additional tools, surfaces, and items to create complex courses more easily.
Lastly, the improved camera system lets course designers show off their creations more effectively to the rest of the global PGA Tour 2K25 community.
