Psychological Horror, True Fear: Forsaken Souls 3, Sets Release Date
Indie studio Goblinz Ent. and publisher The Digital Lounge are bringing the third and final part of the acclaimed True Fear series to PC on March 31, 2025. True Fear: Forsaken Souls 3 is a horror escape game that features point and click mechanics, and follows series protagonist Holly Stonehouse as she digs up more dark secrets about her family.
Holly’s story began in True Fear: Forsaken Souls 1 as she investigated her derelict ancestral home, Stonehouse Manor. This was followed in Forsaken Souls 2 by Holly finding her way to Dark Falls Asylum, an abandoned hospital that gets especially spooky at night.
“Holly’s story reaches its epic conclusion in True Fear 3, seeking to answer the questions that have haunted the Stonehouse name for generations,” the press release said. “An intense adventure brimming with psychological suspense and a story filled with diabolical twists and turns.”
Well-Received Scares
The True Fear series also falls into the hidden object genre, where players have to scour richly-detailed scenes to find clues and solve puzzles. The first installment was released in 2016 and drew praise from critics and players alike, for being a genuinely frightening, engrossing, and engaging hidden-object adventure.
The second followed suit, earning comments about its good scares and overall great ambience. Golblinz Ent. and The Digital Lounge are planning to keep this momentum, thanks to a familiar blend of atmosphere and puzzles.
Behind The Horror
Goblinz Ent. is a small studio based in Paris and is behind every entry in the True Fear franchise. The devs have already created a strong presence on social media, where updates and game news are often shared directly with fans.
The Digital Lounge is the publisher behind the 20th Anniversary release of cult Amiga game Another World, as well as the revival of Kick Off, and all previous entries of the True Fear series.
A demo of True Fear: Forsaken Souls 3 is available now ahead of the full game release on PC, with console and mobile versions likely to follow at a later date.
