Red Square Games Joins The ARPG Fray With Sancticide Early Access

Polish game studio Red Square Games has granted early access to its ARPG Sancticide, which is slated for full release later this year. PC gamers will have several months to test the game before the 1.0 version comes out.

The game is based on the popular book series Komornik, celebrated in Poland, and centers around the character Ezechiel who roams an apocalyptic world where he encounters the last remnants of humanity and cleanses what’s left of the world of sin.

“Sancticide is a melee-focused TPP action game with rogue-lite elements, set in a world of the biblical Apocalypse. The combat system based on spatial and directional awareness pays homage to the games of yore, while manipulating the environment and physically interacting with it expands tactical possibilities,” the game studio said on its website.

Gameplay Evolves With Interactions

As players interact with the surrounding environment, their journey throughout the game changes, including interactions with NPCs, battles with enemies, and access to new areas of the map.

Sancticide also has an honor system, Kosher, and players can decide if they want to “keep it kosher, or not,” and this will also impact how the game behaves.

The battle system is fluid and players and combat sinners, debtors, proselytes, and more in fierce melee style with beheadings along with all the gore that comes with it, and with ranged weapons for safety.

Sacred and unholy weapons will unleash “purple powers,” enabling Ezechiel to alter time, change an enemy’s perception, and most importantly, cause massive destruction.

Death in Sancticide is not the end but the beginning of something new, and an opportunity to refine the strategy and approach to the world.
