Spirit of The North 2 Coming in 2025

Indie game publisher Silver Lining Interactive together with game developer Infuse Studio have announced that Spirit of the North 2 will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series, and PC.

Its predecessor was released in November 2019 to mixed reviews due to technical challenges. Still, the game’s different approach to storytelling, which didn’t rely on dialogue or narration but rather on environmental storytelling and puzzle-solving, was appreciated by a majority of players.

“Spirit of the North 2 sees players take on the role of an isolated fox and its raven companion on a quest to restore the lost guardians and return home,” a joint press release said.

About The Sequel

The ancient world inhabited by the main character has been left in ruins. Team up with a wise raven companion and set off on a quest to release legendary guardians held captive by the dark shaman, Grimnir.

There will be plenty of options to tailor the fox’s looks and skills to satisfy a multitude of playstyles, making each playthrough a one of a kind experience. As the journey progresses there will be runes that will grant abilities to help navigate the different environments.

The open world is vast and full of biomes to discover. Players will journey through dense forests, across snow-covered mountains, and venture deep into dark crypts to save the lost guardians. Each environment will have its set of challenges and secrets to uncover.

Spirit of The North 2 Improvements

Spirit of the North was criticized for its often clunky gameplay and controlling the fox was not always easy as players navigated the three dimensional world map. To improve on both graphics and performance, Spirit of the North 2 is developed on the Unreal Engine 5.

Giving players more control and customization of the main fox character may also provide a better sense of how it fits into the world.
