Swapmeat on The Menu in March, 2025

Independent game developer One More Game just announced its next Meat Lab play testing of Swapmeat. The latest updates of the game will be open for scrutiny from March 6 – March 12, 2025.

Swapmeat is a roguelite third-person shooter with an unusual approach to upgrading player characters. Rather than opening crates or visiting an armorer, players get to swap out body parts for limbs of fallen aliens to acquire new abilities.

“Whether solo or with a four-player co-op squad, you’ll battle alien weirdos and beefy bosses for their meaty trophies,” a company press release said.

Swapmeat has been in development for almost 18 months and doesn’t have an official release date as of yet.

Updates in The Meat Lab

The upcoming Meat Lab in March is the fourth so far. This time there will be new features to the combat system, a number of new abilities, and new weapons.

There will also be two new factions that will have 4-5 enemies each, and the introduction of a new mutant bio.

“Last time we wanted to test the first boss encounter of the game, and make sure that combat, meat swapping, and abilities were all resonating. This time around we’ll continue to work on our combat system,” said One More Game founder, CEO, and Game Director, Jamie Stormbreaker, in a YouTube video announcing the new playtest period.
